Artist Statement

My work is an expression of my love for life. I have a deep connection with nature, a passion for the oppressed, and love for my community. I like making my subjects simple and whimsical so that they’re easy to recognize and resonate with. My paintings, drawings, and sculptures are all done in vibrant colors no matter how light or heavy the subject matter because I consider all parts of life— the happy, the sad, the messy— worthy of celebration.
